MAKE IT INTERACTIVE

Think of something that you can do with a virtual audience in under 2 minutes that is fun or shocking or revelation-inspiring, or eye-opening, or informative, or engaging in a way that they can see how your product or service can be valuable in their everyday lives, why they should take action around what you do.

Examples

  • A forensic scientist wore her lab coat and fingerprinted Nataki while interviewing about the importance of having more black Professionals in government forensic agencies that test blood, DNA, fingerprints to ensure that there is more balance and accountability in the justice system.
  • A healer person did breathing exercises with Nataki on camera and asked the audience to join in.

Three part answers

Think of your response to a question in 3 short parts. The audience doesn’t need the tiny details. Share a clear beginning, substantive point/pivot and conclusion.

This ensures you save time for the juicy stuff you want them to take action around.

Use this guide to 3 part stories to help you focus on delivering a great interview.

WHAT TO WEAR

Do NOT Wear any GREEN. | Do NOT wear all BLACK.

It’s a great idea to wear something that reflects your area of expertise. If you normally wear a suit, lab coat, workout clothes, Etc to do your thing then that’s probably the best choice to wear on the
show of course with the exception of something like an Olympic swimmer who we would probably want you to wear something sporty rather than a bathing suit of course.

Wear something that has at least a splash of color somewhere.

THINK VISUAL APPEAL AND PROPS

If there is a single or group of props or displays that can be with you on camera that really illuminate what you’re about, bring it.

Think creatively about anything that you have, that reflects highlights your area of expertise. Props are great.
